The primary foods for a healthy life

As soon as people find out I’m a healthy chef, they immediately start listing off what they eat and ask me if it’s healthy:

“Is it true almond butter is better than peanut butter?”
“Are you gluten free?”
“I made spaghetti squash last week – is that good?”

While I wish I could wave a magic wand and tell every individual exactly what to eat to be healthy, the truth is being healthy is much more dependent on getting back into your kitchen. Living a healthy life means literally feeding ourselves home-cooked meals so we can nourish our body, mind, and soul on all levels (more on that here).

It wasn’t always this way for me. Some of you know already, I had a tumultuous relationship with food. I spent years addicted to anything and everything – sugar, carbs, even almond butter. I used to turn to food as my coping mechanism, whether I was celebrating a happy occasion or dealing with anxiety and stress. Food was my everything – my best friend with benefits and my greatest enemy.

When others learn about my healthy chef status, they usually perk up, ready to take down notes on exactly what I recommend they cook to be healthy. Sure, I have a few fan favorites up my sleeve. And sure, I love to share recipes if it means it’s gonna get your butt into your kitchen. But that’s only one part of the equation. There are four fundamental primary foods that healed my food addiction. These ingredients are not your typical “foods.” They don’t grow on a farm, nor are they certified organic. None of them come in a perfectly designed package from isle 3, and you can’t order any of them on Amazon Prime. But, alas, allow me to introduce you to the primary foods for living a healthy life and feeding your soul.

These primary foods saved me from my own food addiction, and are so vital for living a full and satisfying life. I hope at least one of these primary foods will inspire you to create more richness and fulfillment in your daily life – not tomorrow or even next week, but right now.

Don’t forget to subscribe to my newsletter so you’re the first to hear about new videos dropped every week. And if there’s someone in your world who might benefit from adding these primary foods into their life, share the goodness with them, too. The more we help each other out and strengthen our community, the better our world will be.

Happy and healthy,

Michelle
